About

Épernay's Mercier runs 18 kilometers of caves 30 meters below ground, now a UNESCO World Heritage site. Eugène Mercier founded the house at 20 and electrified the cellars in 1886. The 1889 Paris Universal Exposition saw him present a giant barrel weighing over 20 tonnes, holding the equivalent of 200,000 bottles. The program centers on Blanc de Noirs, Brut Mercier, Brut Rosé, and Millésime Mercier. Visits include a train tour of the caves at no extra cost, with tastings at €25 per person.
