About Pol Roger

Pol Roger began in 1849 with a first sale that January, then moved from Aÿ to Épernay two years later. By 1855, the house was already favoring brut Champagne over sweeter styles. A vintage rosé followed in 1961, the Blanc de Blancs came next, and in 1975 the Cuvée Winston Churchill was born, released at Blenheim Palace in magnums only. Winston Churchill himself was an unwavering client, calling the firm 'the most drinkable address in the world.' The house expanded to 210 acres by 1999, the same era when the United States became its largest export market. Rich, a demi-sec cuvée, arrived in 2001. The firm has been family-owned for six generations.
