Madison Vineyards operates from Livermore as a wine broker and merchant, not a producer. Founded in 1994 by Mark Ellis, who came to wine distribution from wholesale meat and produce, the house sources small, artisan wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma, Oregon, and Washington. Susie Ellis joins as proprietor. The work centers on direct sales to a referral-based private clientele called the Madison Group, alongside placements in restaurants, cafés, bistros, specialty markets, and wine shops. No tasting room.
