Gnarly Head

About

Gnarly Head, founded in 2004 in Manteca, sources grapes from Lodi. Scott Jones, winemaker since 2008, works with viticulturist Bud Bradley across vineyards where head-trained, spur-pruned Zinfandel has grown for over a century. The Old Vine Zinfandel, sourced from Kramer Vineyard with vines dating to the early 1900s, anchors the portfolio alongside Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc. Clay Station Vineyard, a 1,300-acre Lodi Rules Certified source since 2006, supplies fruit. The house has partnered with the Grateful Dead for limited-edition anniversary packaging.
