About
Weingut Leitner Gernot works 10.5 hectares in Gols, on the northeast shore of the Neusiedlersee, fifty kilometers south of Vienna. A family business, its vineyards spread across the Altenberg, Salzberg, Ungerberg and Goldberg sites. Pinot Blanc grows exclusively at Salzberg. The focus falls on Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent, alongside Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. In the Obere Breite vineyard, a mixed planting dating to 1949 still stands. Riesling here goes into Prädikatswein every year. Farming has been organic since 2019, and the cellar bottles without added yeast, enzymes or other additives. Leitner has been a founding member of Pannobile since 1994.
