Höfler

About

Höfler sits in Gschmaier, in Vulkanland Steiermark, where the work extends beyond wine. Over 25 years of strawberry production runs parallel to the vineyard. The program spans Welschriesling, Muskateller, Urbanus, Weissburgunder, Zweigelt, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Grauer Burgunder. Momentum Barrique, a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc aged 12 months in barrel, sits alongside Zweigelt Barrique, aged 13 months in small wooden barrels. The house also produces Luftikus, a white Schaumwein, and Flamingo, a rosé fruit sparkling wine. Beyond grapes, the cellar makes pumpkin seed oil and grape juice and strawberry nectar, all from own cultivation. An annual wine festival takes place on the oldest vineyard hill. Tastings are offered by appointment with the winemaking family.
