Rudolf Kraus inherited the winemaking operation from his parents Sonja and Rudolf in 1998, then formally established Brandstätter Kraus in 2002. One hectare of sand-loam soil on volcanic rock in Ilz, within Styrian Volcanic Land, yields Chardonnay, Weissburgunder, Gelber Muskateller, Welschriesling, Zweigelt, and Souvenier Gris. The program includes Dani's Liebe and Perlwein alongside the core varietals. Food is available.
