Five miles east of downtown Templeton, in the El Pomar area, Hidden Oak Winery produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petite Sirah from Linne Calodo soil, rocky limestone and clay. Encanto 2019, a Merlot and Cabernet blend, is priced at $35. Red on Red 2016, Petite Sirah, is priced at $36. The Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 Reserve is priced at $60. The wines have earned recognition from Dallas Morning News and San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competitions. The tasting room opens Friday through Sunday, 11 to 5. Wine club members receive quarterly shipments with a 20% purchase discount and no membership fee.
