González Bastías sits in the Coastal Mountain Range on the south bank of the Maule River, 40 kilometers from the coast. José Luis, the fifth generation in Pencahue, tends vines over 200 years old alongside his winemaking partner Daniela. Eighty percent of their grapes come from their own dry-farmed vineyards, worked without irrigation, chemicals, or fertilizers. The remaining fruit arrives from neighboring ancestral vineyards. In adobe cellars, País, Torontel, Moscatel, and Semillón ferment with native yeasts. The program avoids pressing and filtering. Vinification happens in zaranda de coligues, open cement containers, and Raulí fudres. The portfolio includes Vino Matorral, Vino País en Tinaja, Vino Naranjo, Vino Salvaje, Vino Tierra Madre, Vino Hombre Río, Vino Descabezado, and Vino Asoleado, made from sun-dried grapes.
