Gale Vineyards

About

Steve and Creasia Gale planted their first vines in spring 2001 in Durham, seven miles from downtown Chico. The estate grows Primitivo, Albariño, Rosé, and Mélange using organic farming practices and dry farming methods. Vines are pruned in the Old World head-pruning style. Wines age in French oak. The Primitivo is fruity and drinkable in old world style. The Albariño carries soft tropical fruits and the minerality of riverstone. The Mélange is a premium red blend. The tasting room opens Saturdays, noon to five, at 9345 Stanford Lane.
