About
Joseph Martinez founded El Alamo in 2005 in Alcalde, positioned forty miles north of Santa Fe and thirty-five miles south of Taos. The family operation began its vineyard in 2012 with one hundred Baco Noir vines, expanding across two acres with additional plantings of Baco Noir and Riesling through 2014. The program sources grapes from NM Vineyards in Deming alongside estate fruit. Twenty-one wine styles flow from the cellar, anchored by a Bourbon-Aged Baco Noir that carries the house signature. The 2021 New Mexico State Fair Wine Competition awarded seven medals to the portfolio.
