Doolan Wines

About

George Doolan launched his winery in 2020 from Camptonville, in the Tahoe National Forest. The program draws from six vineyards across the Sierra foothills, each at distinct elevations. Mountain House sits at 3300 feet, planted in Sangiovese. Smith Vineyard, 2500 feet in Grass Valley, holds Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot from 1982. Renaissance, at 1900 to 2100 feet in Oregon House, was planted in 1981 with Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling. Lynn's, 2600 feet in Nevada City, carries Riesling and Pinot Noir from the same year. Stone Soup, 1900 feet in Oregon House, grows Syrah from 2000. Snowline, 3000 feet in Camptonville, was planted in 1997 to 1998 with Pinot Noir. The work employs meticulous farming and minimalist winemaking across Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and Syrah.
