About Château Haut-Batailley

Classified Grand Cru in 1855, Château Haut-Batailley split from its neighbor Batailley in 1942. The Cazes family acquired it in 2017. The vineyard expanded from 22 hectares to 41 hectares by 2020, with 19 hectares of newly classified AOC Pauillac planted starting in 2018. The program produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot, supported by a second wine, Haut-Batailley Verso, introduced when the Cazes took control. A new label arrived in 2017. The estate planted over 910 trees and shrubs of 14 varieties in 2022. Tour l'Aspic, the tower erected in 1875 by the Averous sisters, remains a landmark on the property.
