Château Bélair-Monange

About

Saint-Émilion's newest 1er Grand Cru Classé. Château Bélair-Monange emerged from the 2008 acquisition of Château Bélair and the earlier 1952 acquisition of Château Magdelaine, two properties classified among the original twelve Premiers Grands Crus since 1955. The unified estate spans 30 hectares, 26 under vine. Herzog & de Meuron designed the winery buildings, completed in June 2023 after construction that began in March 2019. The structure measures 74 meters by 36 meters. First vinification took place in September 2022. The name honors Adèle Monange, mother of Jean-Pierre Moueix and the first family member to arrive from Corrèze to Saint-Émilion in 1930.
