Black Birch Vineyard LLC

Ian Modestow shapes the program at Black Birch Vineyard in Hatfield, in the Pioneer Valley. The work moves through hand-pressed fruit and small, individually numbered batches. Cabernet Franc, Chardonnel, Viognier, Vidal Blanc, and Traminette form the core. The portfolio spans Brilliant Rosé, a Brut sparkling wine made from Rosé of Cabernet Franc. Circinae arrives unfiltered and unfined, a wild ferment of Chardonnel and Viognier. The cellar also holds Fino, a barrel-aged white in Sherry style, and Ruby, a fortified Port-style dessert wine. Food is available on the grounds.
