About
Askaneli was founded in 1998 by the Chkhaidze family, who trace their winemaking to an ancestral cellar in the Gurian village of Askana. The company runs three factories, in Kakheti, Guria and Tbilisi, and farms 453 hectares of vineyard whose main holdings lie at Kvareli inside the Kindzmarauli special zone. Its Kvareli plant combines wine production with an office, a museum and a showroom, and a panoramic platform reached directly from the factory floor. Askaneli bottles more than sixty wine denominations alongside aged brandy, chacha and brut.
