About Weinhaus Bettina Schumann UG
Weinhaus Bettina Schumann UG began in 2015 in Bahlingen am Kaiserstuhl, a woman-led operation led by Bettina Schumann, a trained oenologist with international winemaking experience, and Melanie Panitzke, an experienced sommelier who worked in some of Germany's best restaurants. The house sources grapes from selected vineyard sites of friendly winemakers and works from a rented cellar. Spätburgunder, Grauburgunder, and Weißburgunder form the portfolio, fermented with natural yeasts and aged in oak. The rosés are known for their powerful and complex character. Wines carry names like Mittenmang, Bis in die Puppen, Famose Schose, Achtkantig, Dit is der Clou von't Janze, Haute Volaute, and Chaiselongue. Production runs to 40,000 liters.
