About Heußler Wein und Destillate
Heußler operates as a family business in Rhodt unter Rietburg, where wine and spirits share the same cellar. The program centers on Riesling, Spätburgunder, and Cabernet Sauvignon, with bottlings like Riesling Schlossberg trocken and Spätburgunder Rosé Sekt brut anchoring the portfolio. A traditional Holstein copper still drives the distillery side. The 1989 Weinbrand, aged 36 years in barrel and bottled at barrel strength, won Silver at Craft Spirits Award Berlin 2023 and is 50% alcohol by volume. The house also produces a GIN BOX featuring three 100 ml samples, Heußler Dry Gin at 43% VOL, Heußler GIN Likör at 25% VOL, and Heußler OLD TOM at 42% VOL. Fair'n Green certification is used to analyze and optimize sustainability across procurement, viticulture, cellar work, and sales. The tasting room and sales facility open Monday–Friday 10–12 and 15–17:30, Saturday 11–15.
