About Weingut Schultheiß
Weingut Schultheiß was founded in 1690 in Gumbsheim. The operation moved to Gumbsheim in 1899 when Karl Schultheiß relocated from a former settlement farm between Gumbsheim and Wöllstein. For over a century, the estate balanced wine with agriculture and pig farming until 1993, when it became a pure wine operation. The soils are calcareous loess-clay. In 2000, a modern machinery and storage hall was built on the property, equipped with a photovoltaic system. The program converted to organic viticulture in 2021 and now produces vegan wines.
