Weingut Carl-Friedrich L. Walther

About Weingut Carl-Friedrich L. Walther

Weingut Carl-Friedrich L. Walther began in 2017 on a small parcel of Silvaner in the Kaatschener Dachsberg, a single vineyard site in Thuringia. The vineyard has since expanded to over 7000 square meters across weathered shell limestone and partial loess-clay soils. Certified organic from the start, the program practices viticulture without synthetic fungicides, fertilizers, or herbicides. Grapes are hand-harvested selectively. The cellar employs minimal technology. Silvaner, Riesling, Weißburgunder, and Spätburgunder move through the portfolio. Corks come from ecologically managed forests in Portugal.
