Weingut Dr. Dahlem in Oppenheim has been producing wine since 1702. The house concentrated on wine production in 1923, then began cultivating Spätburgunder in 1971 and opened exports in 1973. The portfolio includes Spätburgunder, Merlot, Bacchus, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Weissburgunder, Gewürztraminer, and Kerner. Notable wines include Bacchus Qualitätswein feinherb, Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc brut, Chardonnay and Weissburgunder halbtrocken, Grauer Burgunder trocken, Dahlem Sonder-Cuvée-Sekt trocken, and Gold-Sekt halbtrocken. In 2014, the house switched to screw closures. A tasting room anchors the property, with vineyard tours and outdoor seating available. Strausswirtschaft Rathofkapelle, the attached wine bar, opens Friday to Sunday from 5 PM in May, June, September, and October.
