About Yates Family Vineyard

Three generations of Yates have farmed this 35-acre Mt. Veeder site since 1949. They replanted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc in the early 1980s, steep terraces climbing past 1,200 feet. Michael Yates made the first commercial vintage in 1999 after watching his father and grandfather make wine for friends off the same property his whole life.
