About
Tadten sits in the southeastern corner of Neusiedlersee, right on the Hungarian border. Josef Wurzinger's grandfather grew wine here too, though only as a sideline. In 1991, Josef took over the family farm from his parents and turned it toward viticulture and fruit growing. Today the estate farms 25 hectares. Zweigelt and Sauvignon Blanc anchor the range, filled out with Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The farming has followed organic guidelines for many years, formalized with biological-organic certification in early 2014. The first certified organic bottling reached the market with the 2016 vintage.
