About
Underwood Mountain has volcanic soil that Brian converted from pear orchard to vineyard. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir were planted first, joined by Pinot Meunier and Aligoté in 2021. The program works in small batches, aging in barrels sourced from French forests. The 2018 Pinot Noir, 2017 Chardonnay, and 2019 Pinot Noir Rosé anchor the portfolio. A tasting room sits twelve minutes from Hood River, Oregon, roughly an hour and fifteen minutes from Portland.
