About Tenuta Buon Tempo

Tenuta Buon Tempo works Sangiovese across three distinct vineyard blocks in Montalcino, each planted to its own altitude and aspect. La Furba, 1.9 hectares facing north-east at 275 meters, went in the ground in 1996 on clay of oceanic origin. The Rosso di Montalcino vineyard, nine hectares planted between 2000 and 2001, spreads across south-west and south-east slopes at 200 meters on calcareous-clay soil. Brunello di Montalcino occupies five hectares, established between 1994 and 1996, across south-west and south-east aspects between 260 and 310 meters on the Sillano Formation. Vines are trained to yield very limited quantities, capped at 1 to 1.5 kilograms of grapes per plant. The soils here are poor, galestro-rich, and stony.
