About Fuligni
One hundred hectares in Montalcino, fourteen of them vineyard. The work centers on I Cottimelli, where vines climb between 380 and 450 meters. Brunello di Montalcino D.O.C.G. is aged for four years, of which two and a half to three years in wood. The Riserva is aged for five years, of which approximately three and a half years in wood. Rosso di Montalcino ages partially in French oak tonneaux. San Jacopo, a Sangiovese-led blend with Merlot, is aged for several months in French oak tonneaux. Joanni, made from Merlot, is aged in French oak tonneaux for approximately three years, then approximately one year in bottle. Rosato Fuligni is produced from Sangiovese grapes with a limited production of approximately one thousand bottles. The house also produces Extra Virgin Olive Oil from Correggiolo, Frantoio, and Leccino olives, harvested by hand from mid-November and pressed immediately after.
