About Stony Mountain Vineyards
Atop Stony Mountain in Albemarle, Ken Furr, a retired Marine Corps Colonel, built this family-owned boutique winery with a portfolio spanning classical varietals and fruit wines alike. Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Riesling, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio sit alongside Sangiovese blends, Muscadine, and house-named American selections like Mockingbird and Songbird. The tasting room commands panoramic views of the Uwharrie Mountains and lower Yadkin Valley. Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 6 pm, with most Sundays from noon to 5 pm, the space pours wine alongside beers from Uwharrie Brewing and other breweries, plus meat and cheese trays.
