Sternberg

About

Sternberg began in 2009 in Wernberg, Kärnten, farming six hectares organically and biodynamically across approximately 21,000 vines. Hand-harvested grapes become Grauburgunder, Burgunderweine, Frizzante Rosé, and Orange Wines. The program ages in clay amphoras from Florence and French oak barrels. Orange wines spend eight months on the marc, two years in oak, then two more years in bottle within the Terra Mystica mine. The 2022 Grauburgunder won the Kärntner Landes-Weinbaupreis in the Burgunderweine kräftig category. Terra Mystica 2018 scored 89 Falstaff points at the Orange Wine Trophy Europa.
