Spurgeon Vineyards & Winery

About

Glen and Mary Spurgeon planted their first vineyards in 1977 on an 80-acre homestead in Highland, in the Driftless region of Southwest Wisconsin. What began as a half-row grew to five acres, then ten. Founded officially in 1982, the winery has moved beyond estate fruit to source grapes and fruit from trusted growers, focusing the program on Concord, St. Pepin, and Marechal Foch alongside fruit wines like Safe Harbor, Cranberry, Sweet Cherry, Grand Raspberry, Ruby Lady, Blueberry Mead, and Sangria. The portfolio has earned Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Best of Division honors in judged competitions. Shopping News named Spurgeon Best of the Best Overall three years running, 2023 through 2025. The tasting room offers food, outdoor seating, and a picnic area.
