About South River Vineyard
South River Vineyard occupies a century-old church, originally built in Shalersville, now relocated to Harpersfield, fifty miles east of Cleveland. Founded in 2002, the winery produces Merlot, Syrah, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Sémillon, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, and Concord. It stands among Ohio's rare Malbec producers. The wine cave is built from precast highway culverts. The tasting room opens Sunday through Thursday noon to six, Friday and Saturday noon to ten. Outdoor seating spans a veranda, a rustic pavilion with fireplace, and a rooftop pavilion. Guests may bring their own picnic food. Wines are available for purchase and shipping to select states.
