Sleeping Dog Wines

About

Sleeping Dog Wines began in 2002 in Benton City, where Larry Oates and Joyce Oates shape the program. The winery sources fruit from Buoy and Rivers Bend Vineyards, hand-picking grapes and moving them by forklift to the cellar the same day. Red wines spend time in stainless steel tanks with measured oak before bottling. The portfolio centers on Carménère, including the 2014 vintage that earned Gold. Around 300 cases leave the cellar each year. The tasting room welcomes visitors and their dogs.
