Schmid has been making wine in Pillichsdorf since 1661 in the Weinviertel at the Wolfshuberhof estate. The program centers on Grüner Veltliner, grown in the Preissling vineyard. The signature wine, 'Wolfshuber's Secret' from the Heritage line, carries fruity and peppery notes. 'Schnick Schnack' Grüner Veltliner Reserve, a limited-edition 2011 at 14% alcohol, represents the house's full-bodied work. The winery operates a tasting room and aims to become the first truly carbon negative winery in the world.
