About Quinta do Sampayo
Quinta do Sampayo is a historic winery with over 300 years of heritage and 90 hectares of vineyards in the Tejo wine region. The estate features a winery built in the 1990s and offers diverse experiences including vineyard walks, harvest participation, and wine tastings with regional food pairings.
Tasting Experiences
Prova (Wine Tasting)
45-minute tasting experience with history of the estate, explanation of grape varieties and soils, cellar visit, and wine tasting. No reservation required.
Prova Premium (Premium Wine Tasting)
90-minute guided tasting by an enologist with regional products, cellar visit, and estate history. Requires 24-hour advance booking for minimum 2 people.
Vindima & Prova (Harvest & Tasting)
3-hour experience during harvest season (late August to mid-September) including harvest kit, fieldwork, cellar visit, and wine tasting with regional products.
Poda & Prova (Pruning & Tasting)
2-hour winter experience (December to mid-February) covering pruning rituals, regenerative agriculture practices, lunar influence on pruning, cellar visit, and wine tasting.
Caminhada pelas Vinhas (Vineyard Walk)
2-4 hour guided walk through vineyards covering vine growth phases, grape variety influence, soil impact, sustainability practices, with enologist-led tasting. Optional lunch/dinner available.
Passeios a cavalo (Horseback Riding)
80-minute horseback tour through the estate with descriptions of grape varieties and soils, cellar visit, wine tasting, and estate history. Optional lunch/dinner available.
Piquenique na Vinha (Vineyard Picnic)
