Nanua Winery is run by Gia Chubinidze, a fifth-generation winemaker in Terjola, Imereti region, near Kutaisi, descended from an ancestor who headed the Royal Cellar and cultivated grapes for the royal Bagrationi family. For the past 30 years, Gia has collected grapes from Georgia and abroad, and he makes traditional qvevri wine, notably from Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and rarer local grapes such as Otskhanuri Sapere. The winery has a tasting room where visitors can tour the cellar and taste wine served with Imeretian snacks.
