La Stoppa

About

La Stoppa sits in Val Trebbiola, in the province of Piacenza, where Elena Pantaleoni and Giulio Armani have worked since 1973. Fifty-eight hectares of land, thirty planted to vine, managed by hand and certified organic. The work moves through steel and cement for everyday wines, wooden vessels for the riservas. Fermentation happens spontaneously, indigenous yeasts only, no added sulfites, at ambient temperature. The portfolio spans Barbera, Bonarda, Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Ortrugo, and Trebbiano.
