Debby and Jessee Ring planted their first trial vines in 2006 on a slope at 1800 feet. Eight years later, with a Virginia Farm Winery license in hand, JBR Vineyards & Winery began its work in earnest. Four acres of estate-grown Riesling and Pinot Noir anchor the program. Jessee Ring, trained at UC Davis, crafts a traditional German-style Riesling with residual sugar alongside a dry, robust Pinot Noir. Everything is produced and bottled on the premises. The state-of-the-art cellar opened in 2017.
