About James River Cellars
James River Cellars opened in Glen Allen in 2001, with James Batterson at the helm. The 20-acre vineyard sits in Montpelier, Virginia, and the program focuses entirely on Virginia fruit. Gewürztraminer anchors the portfolio. Owned and operated by Mitzi and James, the cellar welcomes visitors seven days a week. Outdoor seating and patios are available, and a picnic area invites longer stays. The house hosts live music through the Fridays at the Pavilion concert series.
