Hofstädter

About

Maria and Johann Hofstädter work vineyards on the southeastern slopes of the Ödenburger Gebirge, in Deutschkreutz. The sites here, in Blaufränkischland, favor red varieties. Eighty percent of the program plants Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The remaining twenty percent holds Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, and Chardonnay. The cellar moves between traditional aging and barrique oak across generations of family winemaking.
