Two acres of granite-rich vineyard in the Jamul hills, roughly thirty minutes from San Diego. Hillside Ranch draws from this estate plot and neighboring East County vineyards to build a program that moves across Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and Syrah, then branches into Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Riesling. The house makes a naturally fermented Sauvignon Blanc, a Rosé of Syrah, an orange wine from Riesling, and The Protector, a harvest red blend. Family-owned. The tasting room opens Friday through Sunday, noon to five. Walk-ins welcome.
