Been making seriously good reds since 2002 in the Sierra Foothills, and Matthew Hatcher has the whole power-and-finesse thing down to a science. Zinfandel, Syrah, Carignane, Merlot, Malbec: classic aromas, rich textures, and they all actually make sense together.
