Krustetten sits south of Krems, right on the border between Kremstal and Wachau. David Harm runs the estate with his wife Katharina, she trained in psychology, he in business administration, and David's mother Walpurga still lives and works on the property. Three children, Valentina, Benedikt and Elenora, round out the family. Organic farming here dates to 1998, when Walpurga and Wilhelm Harm first pioneered the methods still in use. Each year a flowering green manure crop goes into the ground, and horse manure feeds the soil. Am Zaum, near Mautern in the Wachau, holds vines over 40 years old. Silberbichl was recorded as a single vineyard as early as 1562. Kremser Kögl gives the Urgesteinsriesling, Lusthausberg the Gelber Muskateller, and Eichbühel, the highest and coolest site at 340 meters, grows Sauvignon Blanc.
