Fait-Main Wines, pronounced "fay-ma," is a Napa Valley winery founded by winemaker Benoit Touquette, who emphasizes a handmade approach to winemaking. Benoit, originally from Lyon, France, has a rich background in viticulture and enology, having worked with notable wineries in Bordeaux and Napa, including Realm Cellars. Fait-Main focuses on premium wines sourced from distinguished vineyard sites, such as the Missouri Hopper, Sleeping Lady, Las Piedras, and Tierra Roja vineyards, known for their exceptional quality and historical significance.
The winery produces small batches, typically 200-300 cases per wine, with an emphasis on Cabernet Sauvignon. Their wines are characterized by vibrant fruit flavors, balanced tannins, and a commitment to minimal intervention in the cellar, using primarily new French oak barrels for aging. Fait-Main also offers a Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon and a distributed brand called Teeter-Totter, which features a red blend.
