About
Emiliana operates seven farms across Chile's valleys, from Limarí in the north to Biobío in the south, cultivating over 1,150 certified organic hectares. Founded in 1998, the house traces its organic commitment to 1986, when Rafael and Jose Guilisati and winemaker Alvaro Espinoza converted to 100% organic and biodynamic practice. The program is a B Corporation and one of only seven vineyards globally to maintain ISO 14000 certification. Coyam, the flagship red blend first produced in 2001, takes its name from the Mapudungun word for oak. Its inaugural vintage won Best in Show and Best Blend at the inaugural Wines of Chile Awards, and has since appeared in James Suckling's Top 100 Wines of Chile and Global Organic Masters. Gê stands as Chile's first certified biodynamic release. The portfolio spans eleven labels, including Adobe, Novas, Salvaje, Almaluna, Signos de Origen, and Coyam, with Signos de Origen offering Pinot Noir and a Chardonnay-Rousanne blend from Casablanca. Across all farms, vermicomposting enriches the soil with 2,800 to 3,000 litres per hectare seasonally.
