Dutch Creek Winery in Athens is operated by a husband and wife team that makes everything on premise, from mead to cider to fruit wines, drawing honey from their own bees and fruit from their apple-peach-pear orchard. The portfolio includes American Mead, Commonwealth's Revenge, Royal Affair, Peach Blush, Black Diamond Sangria, and Baron's Reserve Hard Cider. Bee Wyld honey sodas arrive in three flavors: Lavender Lemonade, Peach Tea, and Mint Ginger. The tasting room opens Thursday and Friday 5 to 9pm, Saturday noon to 8pm, and Sunday noon to 6pm. Food runs to hot pizzas and Bavarian pretzels with house made beer cheese and honey mustard. In summer, wine slushies are offered. In winter, warm spiced mulled wines and hot chocolate are available. Beer from Rice Family Brewing is also carried. Wines distribute across Ohio and West Virginia.
