About Domaine Hugel & Fils
Domaine Hugel & Fils has held Riquewihr since 1639, now in the hands of the 12th consecutive generation. The house owns 30 hectares of prime vineyard in Riquewihr, mostly classed Grand Cru, and sources from a further 110 hectares under contract. Vines average 35 years of age. The program centers on Gewurztraminer, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Pinot Blanc. Hugel pioneered late-harvest Alsace wines, Vendange Tardive and Sélection de Grains Nobles. Production reaches 110,000 cases annually, with around 90% exported to more than 100 countries. The cellars house a cask named S. Caterine, dated 1715 and recognized by Guinness as the world's oldest working cask. The house belongs to Primum Familiae Vini, an association of prestigious wine dynasties.
