About Château Pierre-Bise
Pierre Papin founded Château Pierre-Bise in 1959 at fifty, planting nine hectares in Beaulieu-sur-Layon. Claude Papin arrived in 1974 and expanded the estate through acquisitions in the late 1980s across Rochefort, Chaume, and Quarts-de-Chaume, then integrated Clos de Coulaine in 1992 to add Savennières to the portfolio. The vineyard now spans 45 hectares, with recent parcels on Roche-aux-Moines acquired in 2004. Organic practice has anchored the program since 1976, formalized through Samabiol. Grass cover was generalized across the property from 1990 onward. The house works Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. A Roche aux Moines placed in the top five of the Decanter competition.
