About Château la Nerthe
Château la Nerthe began as Grange de Beauvenir in 1560, when the Tulle de Villefranche family acquired the property. Marquis Jean-Dominique Tulle de Villefranche launched construction of the château itself between 1711 and 1760. The house pioneered estate bottling in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 1776, and by 1786 its wines reached North America. Commandant Joseph Ducos acquired the château in May 1877. The program works with Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Counoise, Terret, Clairette, and Picpoul.
