About the winery

About Chateau Dorrien The Martin family, headed by Fernando and Jeanette, purchased Dorrien Winery from the Seppelt family in 1984, officially opening it as Chateau Dorrien on 13 January 1985. In 1990 the family purchased the former KarraWirra Winery and reopened it as Twin Valley Estate and moved all production operations to the site. All of the Chateau Dorrien group wines are sold at Chateau Dorrien in the heart of the Barossa Valley. Quality and Consistency is our family focus. Fernando Martin was a third generation descendant of an Italian wine and liqueur making family. Having successfully created fabulous Honey Liqueurs from recipes handed down through generations and producing premium quality red and white wines from the grapes on the famous Dorrien vineyards he went on to purchase a larger wine production facility at Lyndoch. His Son Ramon (Ray) Martin himself is a dedicated winemaker and joined the family business, his aspiration today is to continue his fathers legacy producing handcrafted products of medal winning quality and consistency in the family boutique winery. Steady growth in the popularity of our wines has provided Fernando and son Ray with the most important award they could achieve, their customers appreciation. You can order all of our products direct from our website. However, if you are planning a trip to the Barossa Valley we invite you for an enjoyable wine tasting and to explore the heritage gallery in our historic cellar door. We are located at 9 Seppeltsfield Road, Tanunda, The atmosphere is informal and relaxed and everyone is welcome. We are wheelchair and electric disabled vehicle accessible. For large groups, bookings must be made prior to arrival. Jeanette, Levi, Janine look forward to seeing you at the cellar door soon. Jeanette Martin Co Founder of Chateau Dorrien Wines.
