About Casa Vinicola Avondo
Gattinara, Piemonte. Emanuele Anzivino and Andrea Anzivino lead Casa Vinicola Avondo, founded in 1998. Six hectares of porphyritic volcanic soil yield Nebbiolo, Croatina, Vespolina, and Uva Rara, harvested by hand with manual selection. The house produces between 20,000 and 25,000 bottles annually, ranging from Gattinara and Bramaterra in their standard and Riserva expressions to Nebbiolo DOC Coste della Sesia. The portfolio also includes Rosa Continuo, a rosé sparkling wine aged 36 months on lees, and Continuo, a Vino d'Anfora rested 12 months in amphora with beeswax. The tasting room sits within a historic 1862 distillery building, where the producers present the wines. Five guest rooms occupy the same structure.
