About Carolina Heritage Vineyard and Winery
Carolina Heritage Vineyard and Winery was North Carolina's first certified organic winery when it opened in Elkin in 2008. Nine acres of organic grapevines and two acres of organic blueberries feed the on-site production program. The tasting room runs on solar power, which supplies 85% of the winery's electricity. The house bottles wine in paper made from 94% recycled material, a choice that cuts water use by 82% and carbon footprint by 84% compared to glass. A renovated 100-year-old farm house anchors the property and hosts events. Local craft beers round out the program on draft and in cans.
